Veteran Services Center Volunteer Peer Navigator
Volunteer with Veterans at Denver's the Veteran Service Center. The Peer Navigators will welcome veteran clients to the Veteran Services Center and guide them through the intake process by facilitating communication with the Veteran Services Center staff, other service providers, employers, landlords, and other professionals, and will assist clients with coordinating and scheduling appointments with those representatives. Other duties include helping clients maintain a checklist of service providers contacted and services received, and helping clients develop internet skills for finding employment, housing, and benefits. Basic computer and internet skills, organizational and communication skills required. 2-4 hour shifts available M-Th 9am to 4pm. Veteran volunteers preferred, but all volunteers are welcome. Familiarity with veterans benefits, homeless programs, and Spanish language skills a plus. All volunteers will be trained by VSC staff.
